Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

DeepFind Hunter ("DeepFind Hunter," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Michael Lewellen, a sole proprietor based in Florida, USA. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the DeepFind Hunter mobile application (the "App") and the deepfindhunter.com website (the "Site"), together the "Service."

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Authentication Information

When you create a DeepFind Hunter account, we collect the email address and password you provide. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) and is never stored by us in plain text. We also store profile information you choose to add, such as a display name and profile picture.

Location Information

DeepFind Hunter requests access to your device's precise (GPS) and approximate location ("While Using the App" permission on iOS/Android) to center the map on your position, attach coordinates to finds, let you select an area for AI LiDAR Analysis and coverage scoring, and support your private research notes. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; core map features will be limited without it. We do not track your location in the background when the App is closed.

Photos & Camera

With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can attach photos to Find Log entries, community posts, and your profile picture. We only access photos you actively choose to share.

Content You Create

We store the content you generate in the App, including Find Log entries, community posts and comments, private research notes, land-access records, and AI LiDAR analysis results you request. This content is stored in our Firebase (Google Cloud) database, scoped to your account.

AI Feature Data

  • Hunt Coach: In the current beta build the Hunt Coach runs entirely on your device. Its tips, signal guidance, and chat replies are generated from a guidance library built into the App plus your own logged activity, and your messages are not transmitted to any third-party AI provider. If a future build is configured with an external language-model provider, the coach's messages would be sent to that provider to generate a response, and we will update this policy before that happens.
  • AI LiDAR Analysis (Pro feature, Beta): When you request an analysis of a map area, we send only the selected bounding box and computer-vision-derived candidate metadata (feature type, size, shape, confidence score) for labeling — never raw map imagery, photos, or your identity. Labeling is performed by OpenAI, L.L.C. where that provider is configured for the deployment; if it is not configured the feature reports that analysis is unavailable rather than returning a result. Every result is labeled "possible" or "suspected" and flagged as requiring field verification; nothing is presented as a confirmed discovery.
  • Find Photo ID: Coming Soon — not included in the current Android beta. No photo is sent to an external identification provider by the current Android beta.
  • Conditions: Coming Soon — not included in the current Android beta. No location is sent to an external weather or tide provider by the current Android beta.

Subscription & Payment Information

  • App subscriptions (iOS/Android): purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play Billing and validated through RevenueCat, Inc. We receive your subscription tier and status, not your payment card details.
  • Marketplace: Coming Soon — not included in the current Android beta. No marketplace payment or seller-identity information is collected or processed by the current Android beta. If Marketplace becomes available, payments would be handled by Stripe, Inc., with sellers completing Stripe Connect Express onboarding and identity verification directly with Stripe. We would not store full payment card numbers.
  • Web payments: we do not sell subscriptions or anything else through this website, and there is no web checkout, so no payment information is collected by the Site.

Push Notification Data

If you enable notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token to deliver alerts. You can disable notifications in your device or in-app settings at any time.

Diagnostics

DeepFind Hunter does not currently embed a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Uncaught app errors are logged to a private, admin-only Firestore collection to help us fix bugs. Aggregate, non-identifying usage counts are computed internally for our own product decisions.

Website Cookies & Forms

The deepfindhunter.com marketing site is a static site. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising trackers, and has no server or third-party form service. The beta tester-interest form on the Site does not transmit anything: it composes a pre-filled message in your own email client, which you choose whether to send. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate and improve the Service; sync your data across your devices; power available AI features you request; process subscriptions; enable community features; send you service-related notifications; moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service; and respond to support requests.

3. Cloud Synchronization & Storage

Your account data, finds, research notes, and settings are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) so they sync across your devices. Access is restricted by server-side security rules so that, by default, only you can read or write your own data; community posts and comments you choose to publish are visible to other users as intended, and app moderators can view content that has been reported for review.

4. Community & Future Marketplace Features

Posts, comments, and profile names/pictures you publish are visible to other users of the Service. Do not publish the precise location of a sensitive, protected, or historically significant site.

Marketplace: Coming Soon — not included in the current Android beta. If Marketplace becomes available, published listings and reviews would be visible to other users, and sellers would complete identity verification directly with Stripe as part of Connect Express onboarding. DeepFind Hunter would facilitate payment without being a party to the underlying sale. Please review our Terms of Service for future marketplace rules.

5. Third Parties We Share Data With

We share limited information with service providers who help us run the Service, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, hosting infrastructure
  • OpenAI, L.L.C. — labels AI LiDAR candidate metadata where that provider is configured. The Hunt Coach in the current build does not use OpenAI: it runs on your device.
  • Stripe, Inc. — would process marketplace payments and seller identity verification if Marketplace becomes available. Marketplace is Coming Soon — not included in the current Android beta, so no marketplace data is currently sent to Stripe.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. — validates and manages App Store/Google Play subscription status
  • Apple Inc. / Google LLC — process in-app purchases through their respective app stores
  • USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) and Esri — public-domain and licensed map and elevation tiles. Requesting a map tile reveals your IP address and the tile coordinates to the tile host; no account data, find data, or identity is sent.
  • Google LLC (Google Fonts) — serves the typefaces used on the marketing site

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see Section 8), we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to comply with legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all Service traffic and owner-restricted Firebase security rules for your personal data. Payment card data is never handled by us: in-app subscription purchases are processed by the app stores, and marketplace payments would be processed by Stripe if Marketplace becomes available. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access & export: you can view your data directly in the App.
  • Correction: you can edit your profile, finds, and posts at any time.
  • Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account), or by following our account-deletion instructions to email us at support@deepfindhunter.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) and EEA/UK (GDPR) residents have additional rights, including the right to know what personal data we hold, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate data, and to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal data (we do not sell personal data). To exercise these rights, contact support@deepfindhunter.com.
  • Beta correspondence: if you email us to join the tester list we keep your message so we can contact you about the beta. Ask us to remove you at any time and we will delete it.

9. Children's Privacy

DeepFind Hunter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support@deepfindhunter.com and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (including Google Firebase, and where configured OpenAI and Stripe) may process and store data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice in the App where required.
